Submission closed on Friday 17th April for Waipa District Council 10 Year Plan and Waipa 2050. The Chamber completed a submission on behalf of its members. A copy of the full submission is attached.
Submission 2009 10 Year Plan and Waipa 2050
As a result of the Chamber submission, Council have amended the Vision Section of the Growth Strategy to reflect the need for surety of power supply, and the need for provision of broadband services to the District.
The response to Chamber states that: "a second line into Te Awamutu was identified as a potential project within the next 10 years. It is important that this issue and this project are identitifed within the Growth Strategy." Te Awamutu Chamber is pleased both issues have been acknowleged in the Strategy, however, as funding options are explored, we are concerned at the potential financial impact of this provision on ratepayers and users.
