Maria Heslop

Chair / Investment Adviser and NZX Adviser at Craigs Investment Partners

I was born and bred in Te Awamutu and my husband and son both work for businesses here.  We live together in rural TA and I am an investment adviser for Craigs Investment Partners servicing the Waikato with a large client base locally.  I do a lot of work in the community through Craigs for numerous organisations in Sport, Environmental, Art, Charitable trusts, Women’s organisations and more.  I also serve on the board for Mathematics for a Lifetime Charitable Trust and I am a Rotary member.  I absolutely love all things business and the Chamber is the essence of that!  The Chamber is a strong, vibrant, growth orientated business hub where like-minded people network, learn and do business together and I love being a part of making that happen and helping to govern its bright future.

Mark Derbyshire

Real Estate Specialist at LJ Hooker Te Awamutu

My name is Mark Derbyshire and I am a Real Estate Salesperson at LJ Hooker. Brought up in Te Awamutu along with many of my extended family, I recently moved back ‘home’ to raise my own family with my wife Georgia; we recognise Te Awamutu as a caring and supportive place to live with so much to offer. I have worked in mostly customer-facing roles for 20 years - in retail and trade - and also have been self-employed, so I believe have a solid understanding and appreciation for small business and the support necessary for growth and success. I see the Chamber of Commerce Te Awamutu has gone from strength to strength in recent years, and I look forward to playing an active part on the board, and becoming more involved in our community.

Ange Holt

Owner of Te Awamutu Space Centre, Operator of teawamutu.nz community website

I live here in Te Awamutu with my family, Dave, and my two children Jessica & Floyd. Dave and I operate the Te Awamutu Community website, teawamutu.nz and have provided this website for the community and visitors for over 15 years. We have also have another business – this time in the “real world” – the Te Awamutu Space Centre. I currently I have two part time jobs – doing administration at First National Te Awamutu and as the Violence Free Waipa Te Awamutu Coordinator. I also participate in a number of other community organisations. With a background in sales, sponsorship, marketing and customer service and experience serving on previous boards/committees, I look forward to using my skills to assist with the growth and sustainability of the Te Awamutu Chamber and making a contribution to the success of Te Awamutu Business.

Tania Sanders

Partner at Findex

I was Born in Whanganui but moved to Te Awamutu to start my schooling and been here ever since. My husband and I had a couple of years living in London and returned home to have a family in NZ. I have been an accountant all my working life and got chartered in 1997. I have worked for and eventually owned Kelly & Bryant Chartered Accountants Ltd, this went on to become Findex where I am currently an associate partner. I am in a range of community groups – Altrusa International of Te Awamutu, Te Awamutu Sports Netball Club, Te Awamutu Sports Hockey Club, Stewart Alexander Golf Club.   I always put my hand up to help in any finance capacity they have as that is a strength for me and people are often reluctant to fill the roles.  I am passionate about Te Awamutu and its business community and would like to ensure all business owners make the most of what the Chamber can do for them.

Viv Veale

Real Estate Specialist at Te Awamutu Harcourts

My name is Viv Veale, I have been in various businesses right from when I was young and single but in recent years, my husband and I had the Anchor milk run in Te Awamutu for 7 years and a food distribution business in Hamilton which covered the Waikato. From there I went into Real Estate in 2013 until now, still running my own business within a business (Harcourts Brand) in sales which I have been very successful at.  My husband is also currently running a local business Hire A Hubby Te Awamutu.

I’m keen to start working with the Chamber of Commerce and have some input to help local business’s, meet some new people and work as a team in the local community.

Regan McCorquindale

Founder and Owner of Accurate Growth

Passion for progression. Being born and raised on a dairy farm out of Te Awamutu, I have always enjoyed growth and progression. Having studied a Bachelor of AgriCommerce in Palmerston North, and since have run my own pastoral and advisory business with dairy farmers throughout the Waikato, has positioned me well to be engaged as a board member for the Te Awamutu Chamber of Commerce. For me going forwards, I would like to see more people understand what goes on behind the doors of a small business and how local and national politics truly affect their continuity
